Aramu Muru is located about an hour from Puno City, in the Aymara site of Lake Titicaca.

According to the local people, the Aramu Muru doorway is a place full of magic. It is a dimensional portal that can transport you to a different one.

It bears this name thanks to an Inca priest who escaped from Cusco with a huge gold disc that was a representation of the Sun. He used the gateway to protect and hide it.

For a long time, the local people protected the Aramu Muru doorway, simply hiding information about its existence from visitors because they were afraid of being near this natural formation. This is because it has no relation to the rest of the high plateau; it is a unique place due to the formation it possesses.

The site was discovered by a local tour guide who was exploring the area in order to find this mystical place, which existed only in chronicles and the stories of the local people.

Therefore, today the local people still worship and respect Aramu Muru, especially during August, which is considered the beginning of the Andean year.
