Humantay Lake is a relatively new attraction in the Cusco region, it was part of the Salkantay trek route in the past, but now, that the place has more facilities and it is easier to get there than in the past.
The lake is becoming more and more famous, especially for people who are looking for one day of hiking. To visit one of the highest snowcapped peaks in Cusco and an impressive turquoise water lake.
The climbing up is gentle through a very conserved path with Salkantay snow-capped mountain in front all the time. The Lake is located around 13700 feet and for sure you will feel altitude sickness, you should spend some time in Cusco City before this climbing for acclimating your body to new altitude.

This tour has an early meeting, your tour guide and transportation will be in your hotel around 4 am to pick you up and take you directly to Mollepata town where you will have breakfast included, the driving time from Cusco to Mollepata is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
After breakfast, the driving will continue to SorayPampa area where the hike is going to start, the driving will be for 1 hour and 30 minutes, after arriving at the starting spot.
The Hike in a gentle pass will be approximately 2 hours to get the top from where you will have an incredible view of the lake. you will spend some time there because the view is breathtaking and it is not just the lake it is also the snowcapped peak.
You will return to Mollepata town to have a Lunch and after lunch, the transportation will be direct to Cusco without stops along the way. The tour will finalize when the tour guide and driver will leave at your hotel, around 7 pm. The tour is exhausting as the location is far from the city.
