Machu picchu by train 2 days – Itinerary
Day 01: Train to Machu picchu – Hotel night
We will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel (which must be located in Cusco City) or directly from the airport, depending on your arrival time. We will then transfer you to the train station in the Sacred Valley. Time permitting, You will visit the incredible community of Raqchi, a traditional textile center. There, you will learn about ancestral weaving techniques still practiced today. After this visit, we will continue our journey to Ollantaytambo, where the train station is located. Here, you will board a scenic train for a 1 hour and 45 minute ride to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, our representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel, where you will spend the night. In the afternoon/evening, you will have a briefing with your tour guide to receive all the details of the following day excursion.
Day 02: Machu Picchu tour – Train back to Cusco.
The second day will begin early with the excitement of visiting this world wonder. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aguas Calientes (you must have breakfast before the pickup time) and then head to the bus station. You will take a 25-minute bus ride to the impressive citadel of Machu Picchu, where you will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2.5 hours. After the tour, you will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch before boarding the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival at the station, a Kaypi Peru Tours representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.
