Itinerary of Peru Amazon tour
Day 1: Flight from the USA to Lima.
The tour will start with your international flight from the USA to Lima, Perú. Our flights are operated by commercial airlines and they leave from different cities in the USA and have different durations and arrival times.
Day 2: City Tour in Lima, “Gastronomical Capital of South America”.
After you get to the airport in Lima, a representative of Kaypi Peru Tours will pick you up to take you to the hotel in Miraflores area. (Just take note that our representative will wait for you with a banner of our company “GREEN KAYPI HUMMINGBIRD” in the international arrival area).
Once you arrive at the hotel in the Miraflores area, you will have time to rest and enjoy your included breakfast. Afterwards, at approximately 9:00 AM, your Lima City Tour will begin with transportation and a tour guide. You will visit the following places:
» Miraflores Downtown and the Park of Love.
» Historical Center of Lima, the Country Hall, the Cathedral.
» San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs.
The afternoon will be free of activities. You will spend the night in Lima – Miraflores area.
Day 3: Free day in Lima.
After having breakfast in the hotel, you will have a completely free day in the gastronomical capital of South America, and depending on the time that you have can coordinate some of the activities that we can recommend to you:

You will spend the night in Lima – Miraflores area.
Day 4: Flight to Puerto Maldonado – Peruvian Jungle Tour.
Our day will start with your pick up from the hotel to take you to the airport to catch the flight to Puerto Maldonado. Once arrive there, we will transfer you to the City where we will get on our boat and begin the unforgettable journey through the Madre de Dios River. On the way, you could observe the alligators, turtles, herons, and other animals.
Arriving at the lodge, you will enjoy the exquisite typical welcome drink, and then you will settle into comfortable bungalows to have your lunch. With the help of our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island, located only five minutes from the lodge, in the middle of the Madre de Dios River.
The monkey island hosts different monkey species: starting from the noisy ones, the Maquisapas, the happy Achuñis, and the very impressive Frailes, to the very little and funny “leoncitos”, little lions.
On the way to the Island, you will see very beautiful landscapes with all the flora and fauna that they host, as well as the amazing sunset in the jungle.
Day 5: Jungle Tour Apu Victor.
The day will start with the beautiful birds singing. We’ll start our journey with a hike to the depths of the woods, special paths with britches to cross the gaps. During the journey, we will observe the caiman’s cave. Then we will continue and arrive at the majestic Apu Victor Lake, beautiful, crystalline waters, surrounded by huge swamps, giant trees.
Later we will climb up our Amazon Peru Tours Observatory, where We will have a panoramic view of the lake, we will observe parrots, guacamayos, toucans, camungo, shanshos, herons, and If we are lucky enough we could observe one of the most spectacular animals of the jungle, the giant nutria, Then after many hours, we will return to the lodge and lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Gamitana river, which is born in the heart of the jungle.
On its shores, we could observe turtles, caimans, butterflies, and some other animals. You may swim in its waters. Then return and have dinner.
Day 6: Jungle Tour, The Lost Lake.
After breakfast, we will start an adventure in the virgin rainforest, and accompanied by a local guide, we´ll go on a hike in the deep jungle, to get to the Lost Cocha, which constitutes a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a huge variety of animals. There, we´ll have the chance to observe Otters, Caimans, Turtles, Sachavacas (Tapirs), Birds with multicolored feathers, the majestic Jaguar, and a variety of fish species. This area is unique and proper to the Ecoamazonia´s Ecological Reserve, which maintains it intact, with huge swamps and diverse “aguajales”.
Day 7: Jungle Tour and Flight to Cusco.
The day will begin with your last breakfast in the Jungle, and after that, your boat and private Bus will take you to the airport to take your flight to Cusco.
Once arrive in Cusco, we will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel located in the city center.
You will spend the night in Cusco City.
Day 8: Walking tour in the Ancient Capital of the Incas.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your walking city tour. Along the way, you will visit:
» The Plaza de Armas (Cusco’s main square)
» Plaza Nazarenas
» The San Blas neighborhood
» The Twelve-Angled Stone
» Plaza San Francisco and the Mercado Central de San Pedro
The afternoon is free of scheduled activities, giving you time to explore the city at your own pace.
You will spend the night in Cusco city.
Day 9: Free day in Cusco city – Optional tours available.
The day is yours to spend at your leisure. Kaypi Peru Tours does offer extra day tours and excursions in Cusco for an additional cost. The highlight in Cusco is the SACRED VALLEY TOUR, but we have more options for you such as:

You will spend the night in Cusco city.
Day 10: On the way to Machupicchu – Hotel night in Machupicchu town
We will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the train station located in the town of Ollantaytambo. On the way to the train station, we will stop in the Raqchi community, where the alpaca and llama farm is located. There, you will have a chance to interact with this beautiful animals and learn about the andean textiles, after this unforgettable experience we will continue to the train station.
You must bring a valid passport for all train travel. The train ride lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes or 2 hours. After your arrival in Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu town, our representative will meet you and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy. You can visit the Orchid Museum, the Chávez Ballón Museum, the Machu Picchu Site Museum, or the thermal baths in Aguas Calientes. You will spend the night in the city of Aguas Calientes.
Day 11: Machupicchu Tour and Train back to Cusco City, Hotel night in Cusco
You will have breakfast at your hotel, and then your tour guide will pick you up and take you to the bus station, where you’ll board the bus that will take you up to the majestic Machu Picchu.
The visit will begin early, filled with the excitement of exploring one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Once there, you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of approximately 2.5 hours, discovering the fascinating history, temples, terraces, and breathtaking views of this sacred site. Please remember to bring your valid passport for entry into Machu Picchu.
After this unforgettable experience, you’ll take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch, collect your bags from the hotel, and then board the train back to Cusco or Ollantaytambo. The train journey takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the train service and your destination station. Upon arrival, a Kaypi Peru Tours representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.
You will spend the night in Cusco City, surrounded by the charm and magic of the Andes.
Day 12: Transfer to the airport, flight to Lima, and to the USA.
Our representative will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the airport, where you will catch the flight to Lima and the connecting flight to the USA.
