EXCELLENT Based on 735 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Engler GVerified Lo máximo! Posted on Tripadvisor NancerWisconsinVerified Lito was fantastic! Lito was our driver and tour guide today. We explored Pisac Archeological Park. It was stunning. Lito was very knowledgeable, kind, calm and flexible. He gave us an abundance of information about this site. He drove us to Andean Colors for a delightful lunch and information session on weaving. Lito was an excellent driver and guide. We highly recommend him. Lo recomiendo .Posted on Tripadvisor JackieVerified Great way to see Sacred Valley Although my partner and I were staying in Ollantaytambo, Franco accommodated us and picked us up near our hotel. He was extremely knowledgeable and even slowed down for us when the elevation started to get to us. It was a fantastic way to see so many Sacred Valley highlights in one day. The price of the lunch buffet was not included in the overall price so bring an extra 80 soles per person.Posted on Tripadvisor Global02123950627Verified Exceptional Eight days Tours with Kaypi Peru It was a fabulous experience from the very beginning. Franco guided us through the entire process, always available and attentive to our requests—even modifying the itinerary to suit our interests. We were a group of six, and we all felt safe throughout our eight-day stay in Peru; the transportation was safe and punctual, and our driver, Jordy, was excellent and responsible. Franco is a tour operator with vast experience and knowledge of all the sites we visited, as well as being a young man with a great personality and true professionalism. Franco guided us through the booking and payment process and was always quick to answer any questions we had. During the tours, he was attentive to all our needs—and even our moments of fatigue. We were all delighted with the experience and are determined to return with Kaypi Peru when the time comes. Posted on Tripadvisor Matthew NVerified Amazing Tour! Our guide and driver were amazing and made the trip an unforgettable experience. Our guide knew a lot about the history of each location and was very good at explaining the significance of each place. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested.Posted on Tripadvisor David YVerified Trip of a lifetime. This is our second trip to Peru that we’ve booked with Kaypi Peru tours and we could not have been happier. We travel a lot and usually book our own stuff but Kaypi makes it so easy and with the requirements of Peru it’s a no brained to let them handle all the logistics. The main focus of this trip was the 4 day 3 night Inca trail trek ending in Machu Picchu. We also did some other things while in Cusco Kaypi handled all the details. Flights, ground transportation, tours, accommodations etc. Before I go into the breakdown of our tour I’d like to mention a few things. First the food we were served on the trail was spectacular. My wife is a very picky eater and tried so many new things to her. She enjoyed most of them. Armando is a genius with a camp stove. All meals were multi course with soups, salads, appetizers, main course and desserts. He even baked a cake for us the last night. On the first day he served us some pico del gallo and I mention how much I enjoyed it. He made me a different version every lunch and dinner the entire trip. They also provided us snacks along the trip and plenty of hot chocolate, coffee and coca tea for the cool weather. Next the porters. These are another incredible team. They setup and broke down our campsites, lunch spots, shower and bathroom tent and did everything possible to make our journey a success and stress free. These are very hardworking people and deserve every bit of accolades they get. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Adu. This was his first time on the trail. Once he was to camp he’d usually double back to meet us with snacks, take pictures for us etc. He’s newer to Kaypi but I think he’ll do great in the future with them. All of the supplies provided to us were top notch. The tents, sleeping bags, mattress pads etc were clean and comfortable and great quality. I want to give a thank you to Jhorel in the office for handling my booking and answering the 1000 questions I had leading up to the trip. Because of their great communication we were very well prepared for the trip Last but certainly not least is Renso. He is such a charismatic person. His guide knowledge is top of the charts. He was a great motivator helping us along the trail. He answered any and every question we had no matter what it was related too. I can’t say enough about him and the entire team. I would not even look at another company if/when we return to Peru. Now on to the breakdown of our trip. Day 1: We opted to extend our trip to give ourselves a couple days to acclimate to the altitude as we live at sea level. We flew in to Cusco and landed late morning. Jordy our driver and Renso our guide met us at the airport. We specifically requested Renso as he was our guide the first trip and did a phenomenal job. On the ride from the airport Renso gave a quick break down of what the week had in store for us. Renso made sure the hotel check in was completed and left us to relax some. The hotel was clean, comfortable and was a great location only 1 block from the main square and also close to St Pedro’s market. Day 2: We met Renso for a 1/2 day walking tour of Cusco. He took us to some markets because we mentioned wanting to try some native fruits. He also took us to some great picture spots and scenic areas. Renso is extremely knowledgeable and a fun guide. Day 3: We opted for an add on excursion to Rainbow mountain. Jordy, Renso and Adu picked us up nice and early and we headed out. Rainbow mountain was beautiful and I highly suggest it for anyone. The altitude is high though. Over 16,000ft. So make sure you’re hydrated and using altitude sickness meds if necessary. On the way up we stopped at a delicious restaurant for breakfast and stopped again on the way back for lunch. The food was great and included in the tour price. At the end of this day, we were provided our duffle bags for the porters on the hike and Renso sat down and explained in detail what we had to look forward to the next few days on the hike. Day 4: Inca trail. We left Cusco early, stopped for breakfast and to pick up porters and supplies and headed off for Km82, the start of our trek. As luck would have it, our tour ended up being private with just the 3 of us, Renso our guide, Armando our chef and our incredible team of 8 porters. Words can’t begin to describe the amount of effort the guides, porters and chef put in to make sure our trip is perfect. We set out for an easy day of hiking with lunch on the trail. We made it to camp mid afternoon, where our tents were setup, our duffels were waiting and dinner was cooking. We hike approximately 7.35 miles on day 1 but minimal elevation changes. Day 5: Dead woman’s pass. Our schedule was changed up a bit because we couldn’t get the campsites they preferred. In hindsight the new schedule probably worked better for us as one person in our party was struggling with a cold and not 100% for the climb. On this day we hiked up to dead woman’s pass which is just under 14,000 feet. It was a tough climb but with the support of our team we all made it. As soon as you reach the summit it’s straight back down Inca stairs. It was challenging, but fun and rewarding. We camped in the valley that night. We hiked about 7.3 miles on this day but we also had 4,200 feet of elevation gain. Day 6: Out of the valley and another summit to conquer. Albeit a bit smaller. Once we got to the top it was the same more stairs down. That night once we got to camp, Renso and Adu took my wife and I on a journey to an Inca sight not far from camp while dinner was cooking. With had great interactions with llamas and got to see some incredible sights. It was a perfect t way to wrap up the day. We hiked about 9.3 miles on day 6 with 4,000 feet of elevation gain followed by quite a decent to camp. Day 7: The day everyone is looking forward to. This is the day we reach Mach Picchu. This is the shortest day of hiking. We woke up early to get in line at a the control point. We said our final goodbyes to our team of porters and chef since this was the last time we’d see them and we headed out. Once we were through the control point it was a relatively short hike to the Sun gate. Unfortunately when we got there the cloud cover was thick so we could not see MP from there. We decided to hang around and see if the clouds broke. In the meanwhile, Renso was educating us about the Incan people and the history of the civilization. We caught a couple sneak peeks with little cloud breaks and decided to continue on. Just a bit more down the trail, at the next Inca sight we hit the jackpot. The clouds were gone and we were blessed with amazing views. We toured the sight learning more history about the people, their way of life and their architecture. Now there’s only one thing left to do. Make it to Machu Picchu. We finished the hike and were greeted with post card views of the citadel. After lots of pictures we went down, used the facilities and went through the control to go into the citadel to tour. After spending all the time we wanted there, we caught the bus down to aguas caliente. We ate lunch, retrieved our bags that the porters were carrying, had free time to explore AC and the made our way to the train. WE DID IT! We completed the Inca trail. On this day we hiked about 3.45 miles not including walking around MP and AC. We took the train to Ollantaytambo where we met with Jordy who drove us back to Cusco to the same hotel we stayed at for the beginning of our trip. We spent the evening relaxing and packing. Day 8 Jordy picked us up and brought us to the airport to start our trip home.Posted on Tripadvisor Shawn HVerified Worth it Lito was a great guide! Pleasant, knowledgeable and tailored our tour to us. The ruins are impressive, lots to see at a relaxed pace.Posted on Tripadvisor Jonathan KVerified We had an amazing time visiting Peru and touring with Kaypi My girlfriend and I had a great experience doing the 7 day Kaypi tour! We got to visit Lima, Cusco & Machu Picchu. We also did the Sacred valley tour which I would totally recommend. The transportation from flights, car service, trains was top notch and always on time. Lito, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. He knew all the best spots and took great photos and care of us. Unfortunately it rained the morning we visited Machu Picchu but eventually cleared up and was still gorgeous. The food was delicious and inexpensive with lots of restaurants to choose from. This country is beautiful and would rightly suggest booking with Kaypi!
